Day of Defeat

Mapping Day of Defeat - by Nick Robins
The information in this series of tutorials is compatible with DoD v1.3 and I am hoping to provide all the functionality of Nick's original site, while adding some of my own information.
Happy DoD mapping - Andy

DoD mapping tutorials

Below are direct links to all the tutorials and guides for DoD. If you are a first time DoD level designer without Half-Life level design experience, it is suggested that you get the hang of making simple levels for Half-Life first, as that will give you excellent grounding and a better understanding of the information provided.

If you are a long time HL level designer, and thought you would give DoD a try :-) then the most important tutorial in this lot is Required Entities which outlines the basic Entity setup and provides instructions on how to get the map running in Steam.

Also listed under the References is a simple Example Map showing the basic setup for a three flag system. This map also provides examples of clipping using special textures, creating sandbags walls with a dod_trigger_sandbag and using dod_object for non scoring objectives (Blowing a wall).
