Test Procedure
or "What do I need to do to test maps?"
Ok, so you think you have what it takes to test AQ maps eh? Though we know many of you will just grab these maps so you can have the latest out there, the real purpose of this site is to help the map authors make their maps better so we all have a more enjoyble gaming experience. This means taking a little closer look at the maps, not just while playing online, but also offline so you can take a closer look at things like textures and prefabs without worring about defending yourself. For you people that are here to download these maps just so you can have them before anybody else, remember this: these maps may not yet be finished. Many times the authors will make changes to a map and re-submit it to us for continued testing so don't be surprised when you go to jump on a server that is running one of these map, when finally released, and the version is different than the one you have.

Before you start downloading and fragging your friends on these new maps, take a preview through the Map Criteria so you know what to look for while testing.

After checking out the 'questionaire', download some test maps and start checking them out. Be sure to check the Test Matrix first and try to test maps that have been in testing the longest and have the fewest test results. first.

After running through the map a few time, both online and offline, give us your results by filling out the it's 'questionaire' by clicking on the appropriate icon on the Test Matrix (be sure to give the author any comments that you can to help them improve the map). Your results are then tallied and used to help decide if a map should be 'Officially' released or not.

Maps will remain in testing for at least two weeks. After that time, if a map has had at least 11 reviews (don't ask how we came up with that number - it's complicated stastical stuff) it will be decided if it should be released or not. If a map has not had enough reviews after a few weeks then we will either remove the map from testing (we have found that the better maps get tested more just by word of mouth - that says something about the maps that don't get alot of testing), or if the few reviews the map does have rate the map highly then it will be given another week of testing. So...get your reviews in (especially on maps you like) or the maps will never be released.
